New President to Lead the Mt. Pleasant Corporation

A new president is taking over the Mt. Pleasant Corporation starting Feb. 4. Harvey Wilsoon will be replacing the current president, Adam Smith. Smith announced his retirement from the Mt. Pleasant Corporation this past Monday, where he held office for the past 15 years.

Wilsoon is the former executive vice president of Knox Company, a developer of suburban shopping malls. He held this position for the past seven years. Prior to being executive vice president, he served as chief financial officer of several construction firms, including Krupp company, which builds hotels around the world.

Starting out at the University of Washington, Wilsoon earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting. After graduating from the University of Washington, he went on to complete an MBA from Stanford University.

Wilsoon is a member of the National Accounting Association, where he was a former board member, a member of the Illinois Business Round Table, the Chicago Sailing Club and the Chicago Athletic Club.

Wilsoon, 52, lives in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He is married and has two children who are attending college.
